Our volunteers are the support staff who act as couriers, assist the admitting office with new patients, staff the information desk, operate the gift shop, deliver mail and flowers, and help visitors in any way they can. There is a niche for everyone in our volunteer program. Adults who want to be around people and feel a sense of helping others have an excellent opportunity to do that at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Retirees who have extra time on their hands find enjoyment in the program. Volunteers are allowed to choose their own days and hours and the area in which they help. A smile and word of thanks are a volunteer’s reward for a job well done. Upstate Carolina Medical Center volunteers are special people.
