Fibromyalgia Support Group Forms in Gaffney
Prepared by: Steve Wong Upstate Carolina Medical Center Marketing Phone 864-487-1515 Upstate Carolina Medical Center will be the host site for a new Fibromyalgia Support Group in Gaffney. The initial meeting will be Monday, Feb 19, at 7 p.m. in the hospital’s Classroom. This will be an informational gathering where participates can share information on symptoms, treatments, feelings and frustrations. Fibromyalgia is a disease characterized by diffuse, body-wide pain diagnosed by Trigger Points. Poor sleep patterns or unrefreshing sleep are other major symptoms. Other examples are low back pain, tension headaches, temporomandibular dysfunction (jaw pain) and various forms of pelvic pain. This group is being spearheaded by Madelon Claterbos, a local citizen.
